La fiesta de los trabajadores is an intervention carried out on the window of a bank on the evening of May 6, 2020, in Bologna. On the glass, in comic-strip form, a conversation in Spanish can be read, an exchange overheard earlier that same day. The lightness with which the speakers joke about the unemployment of one of them, once taken out of context, becomes charged with an ambiguous bitterness. The photographic documentation, moreover, captures beyond the windows a desolate environment, where scattered objects seem to bear witness to a sudden halt in work activities.
