Science is not able to offer complete explanations for the practice of trepanation. Who shot the dinosaurs? instills doubt about a long-standing hypothesis, ready to resurface on a large scale within our societies. The result of studies into the conspiracy fantasies that have shaped the debate over the past decades, the project brings together a multitude of case studies: from the Neolithic to 1990s electronic music, passing through so-called medieval practices for the treatment of madness, up to today’s requests for trepanation on online forums, cartoons, Bart Huges’s bloodbrainvolume theory, and much more. By connecting these different cases, it was possible to trace all the connections, or “occult synchronicities,” on which to build the sequence of the discourse.
