Neuralink - Pioneering Brain Computer Interfaces

Neuralink has announced FDA (Food & Drug Administration) approval to test its chips in the human brain. The goal of Musk’s startup, whose founder also runs Tesla and SpaceX, is to treat conditions such as paralysis or blindness. The intention is also for the chip to be used to address obesity, autism, depression, and even enable telepathy.
Neuralink technology allows brains to interface directly with computers through thought. Initially, the chips are intended to help people who are paralyzed or suffer from neurological diseases. Eventually, people might pay millions of dollars to equip their brains with the processing power of a computer.
So far, coin-sized chips have been implanted in monkeys’ skulls, allowing them to type words on a computer. Other companies, like Synchron, are also working on controlling computers with thought. Musk said: “This is an important first step that will one day allow our technology to help many people.”
